Teen to face enquiry for hitting guard

A teenager who is accused of hitting a security guard at the Kingston Public Hospital is to face a preliminary enquiry on September 6.

The accused said he was guilty with explanation.

He told the court that he went to the hospital with an injured leg and waited from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. He said he became frustrated and wanted to leave. He said he told the guard that he wanted to leave, but she refused to let him.

He said the guard stepped on his injured foot and he pushed her.

The accused said she pushed him back and then he punched her in the mouth. The complainant, however, denied stepping on the injury.

The matter was set for preliminary enquiry by Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey.
