Cops recover guns, ammo |

Three firearms and 189 rounds of ammunition were recovered by the police in Clarendon and St Mary in separate incidents on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Police attached to the Annotto Bay station in St Mary seized two illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition. According to police reports, at about 10:30 a.m. yesterday morning, police personnel were executing routine checks on the Itebareale main road when they ordered the driver of a motor car to stop. The vehicle was searched and a Mack 10 submachine gun, with a magazine containing 25 rounds; a Smith and Weston revolver, with a magazine containing nine 9mm rounds; and 147 assorted 9mm rounds; were seized. The serial numbers on both weapons were erased. The name of the person implicated in the seizure has been withheld as investigations continue. The Annotto Bay Police are investigating. searched premises In Clarendon, officers attached to the May Pen Division were on patrol in the area between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday. While on patrol, they searched premises in Oliver Gardens, which led to the seizure of a Smith and Weston 9 mm pistol, with a magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition. The occupants of the house, Aston Henry, 50, and 32-year-old, Andrea Lewis, both business operators, were arrested and charged with possession of fire-arm and ammunition. Detectives attached to the May Pen Operations Support Team are conducting investigations.
