Vince-Roy Bent, otherwise called 'Chicken', leader of the 'Webb Lane Gang' operating out of Palmers Cross and other areas in Clarendon, was this morning shot dead by members of the Joint Task Force and an AK-47 rifle with six rounds of ammunition taken from him.

Information received is that about 11 a.m., members of a police-military team carried out operations in Palmers Cross.

During the exercise, Bent, who was seen in a section of the community, challenged the lawmen in a gun battle and was fatally shot. Bent was wanted for several crimes committed in various communities within Clarendon.

The Bureau of Special Invest-igations has commenced a probe.
