Murder suspects to be formally charged

Formal charges are expected to be laid this week against three suspects who were held in connection with last month's triple killing on St John's Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The three suspects were reportedly held last Thursday during a massive police operation in the St John's Road area during which some 29 persons were taken into custody.

Investigators believe the three which include a woman may also be linked to other shootings and murders.

Police reports are that three persons were killed and five others shot and injured two Fridays ago when gunmen, travelling in a Suzuki Vitara motor car, opened fire at them at the Love Worship Centre on St John's Road in Spanish Town.

The men were repairing a section of the church building when the gunmen pounced. Two of them died on the spot while the third succumbed to his injuries at the Kingston Public Hospital last Tuesday.
