Fire of an unknown origin destroyed a woodwork shop at Newport, Manchester on Saturday night, police said. No one was injured in the blaze. Reports reaching THE STAR are that shortly before midnight, residents saw fire coming from a section of the shop and called the police and the fire brigade. Police said a unit from the Manchester Fire Department responded and carried out cooling down operations. Loss is estimated at $3 million. Neither the building nor its
contents were insured. |
