Giant-killing Cavalier target Tivoli

Promotion hopefuls Cava-lier will look to continue their giant-killing ways when they play top-brass Premier League outfit and defending cup kings Tivoli Gardens, in the second of two semi-final clashes in the Claro-sponsored Kingston and St Andrew Football Association KSAFA Jackie Bell KO competition at the Harbour View Mini Stadium at 6 p.m.

In the curtain raiser, Premier League teams, August Town and Boys' Town will lock horns at 3 p.m.

Cavalier are the lone Super League representative in the competition at this stage and will be confident of their chances after they managed to advance at the expense of seasoned campaigners Waterhouse at the quarter-final stage, while Tivoli got the better of Premier League leaders Harbour View 3-1 on aggregate.

Despite starting as favourites, Tivoli's coach Lenworth Hyde Sr is not taking anything for granted as he seeks his fourth consecutive hold on the title.

"We won't be underestimating any team and this competition is very important to us, it is a trophy at stake. For me personally, I have won this title three consecutive years so it would be fitting if I just take it four straight."

David Lalor, player/coach of Cavalier, is confident his team can turn back yet another Premier League team.

"The team within itself has full confidence, we are not perturbed by them being a Premier League team," said Lalor. "Cavalier is really a Premier League team itself just playing Super League," he added.

The other semi-final match will see August Town, who have being buoyed by their new coach, Paul Young, go up against Boys' Town. August Town advanced to the semi-finals after getting by struggling Arnett Gardens 3-0 on aggregate. Their first leg encounter had ended 0-0 before August Town ran away 3-0 winners in the second.

Young is anticipating a very tough encounter but hopes his team will come out on top.

Young said: "It is going to be a tough game, the last time Boys' Town played against August Town in the Premier League it was a 1-1 scoreline and we are pretty familiar with their style of play and their players. We have to be smart defensively and hopefully our offence can do the trick."

Boys' Town got by Major League outfit Greenwich Town to reach the semi-finals. They were rampant in the second leg after playing to 2-2 draw with Greenwich in the first. The Red Brigade turned up the heat in the second leg, running out 11-0 winners to advance 13-2 on aggregate.
