Unidentified man killed in car crash

An unidentified male was killed along the Spanish Town leg of Highway 2000 last night, after the vehicle he was travelling in plunged into a ditch. Four other men have been admitted in hospital.

Reports are that about 7 p.m., a Mitsubishi pick-up was travelling towards Spanish Town from May Pen along the highway. On reaching the Vineyards Exit to Spanish Town, the driver of the van attempted to exit the toll road, but reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which fell into a ditch and overturned.

All occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where one man succumbed to his injuries. The identities of the injured men are also yet to be ascertained.

The Spanish Town Traffic Department is investigating.
