One of three gunmen, who held up and robbed patrons at a bar, was mobbed and killed by residents at Mount Prospect, Mandeville, Manchester on Saturday night.

Dead is Delano Lennox, 30, a computer technician of McKenley Road, Mandeville.

Information reaching THE STAR from the police in Manchester, is that about 8:30 p.m., Lennox and two other men armed with guns, entered the bar and robbed patrons of cellphones and an undetermined sum of money.

As the robbers made their escape in a Toyota Corolla motor car, they allegedly fired shots at the residents who retaliated by hurling stones at them.

The vehicle crashed a short distance away, at Top Lincoln district and Lennox was held and beaten by a mob. He was later pronounced dead at the Mandeville Regional Hospital. The other men escaped.

The Mandeville police are investigating.
