A man and his girlfriend were denied bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday for the death of their three-year-old son and the abused of their one-year-old daughter. Both are charged with murder and cruelty to a child. Allegations say the three-year-old child was pronounced dead at the Bustamante Hospital for Children after being brought there because he was not moving during his sleep. The child had bruises all over his body and head. He also had insect bites on his face. It is alleged that the couple's year-old daughter also had bruises all over her body. The police claimed the child was beaten because she was crying too loudly. An attorney for the father told the court his client does not live at the residence and was the one who saw that something was wrong with the child and carried him to hospital. However, police believe he lives with children and their mother. Both were remanded until December 16. |
