32-y-o charged for fraud, drugs |

A Portmore resident charged with having fictitious documents in his possession and breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act is scheduled to return to the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court in February next year. He is Joshua Sawyers, 32-year-old, of 3 East Greater Portmore. When the case came up recently, Sawyers' bail was extended as the court was informed that the file was not yet complete. fictitious documents Sawyers' case arose from a incident occurring on September 13 when he was stopped by the police for a traffic violation. While his documents were being checked, it was revealed that they were fictitious and he was taken to the Portmore Police Station to be processed. The court heard that during a search of the car, the officer found a package containing vegetable matter resembling ganja and it was shown to Sawyers. He was subsequently charged with possession of and dealing in ganja in addition to uttering forged documents. - R.T. |
