Bungles' trial continues today

Superintendent Harry Daley, who is accused of collecting $65,000 in protection money from a St Catherine man, is to return to court today when his trail is expected to be continued.

The trial, which began in July, was slated to continue yesterday, but was put off because the witnesses for the defence were not present.

The trial is to continue with evidence from the witnesses of the defence. The accused man has already given his evidence.

The former head of the St Catherine North Division was arrested on July 31 last year after he was videotaped collecting $15,000 from the complainant Tafari Clarke.

The money had reportedly been marked by detectives from the Anti-Corruption Branch. It is alleged that Daley collected the $65,000 from the complainant between May 2007 and July 2008.
