A 28-year-old woman was stabbed to death during a dispute with another woman in their community at Rose Heights, St James, on Sunday.

Dead is Shelly-Ann Barnes, while charged with murder is 25-year-old Renee Duncans.

Reports from the CCN are that about 12:30 a.m., Barnes was at a shop when she was approached by Duncans and an argument developed between them. It is alleged that during the dispute a knife was used to stab Barnes.

The injured woman was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where she died while being treated.

Investigators from the Montego Bay police have since arrested and charged Duncans.
