Six men were taken into custody following the seizure of two illegal firearms at Marlin Way in Braeton, Portmore, St Catherine, on Thursday evening.

The men, whose names are being withheld pending further investigations, will be questioned in relation to the seizure.

Reports received by the Constabulary Commun-ication Network are that about 5:20 p.m. the police carried out an operation at Marlin Way. During the exercise, a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, serial number BUA9050 with six .38 rounds of ammunition, and a Colt King Cobra .357 Magnum, serial number C0946K and six .38 rounds of ammunition, were seized at a premises. Six men were subsequently taken into custody.

The Portmore police are investigating.
