Tony Matterhorn - File Stage Name: Tony Matterhorn Real Name: Dufton Taylor Birth Month: March How did you get started in the business? Matterhorn: Well Marc, Danny and Willy from Inner City Disco got me started in the business about 1988 when I was about 16. I was still going to Georges School back then and went on to other schools. What has been your greatest challenge in the business yet? Matterhorn: The whole business itself which mi just override. There are just challenging situations like the transformation from selector to artiste. leaving to go to America was probably the most dramatic thing when I was 18. What have you been up to lately? Matterhorn: Nutten good (laughs), just doing pure recordings at di moment. I have songs coming out like Ride and Roll Out, Let Yourself Out, a techno song, Twitter Me Dis for Coppershot. Do you look up to any specific artiste and why? Matterhorn: Well a couple of dem like Shabba, Beenie, Bounty, Buju and Cobra. Mi just always love di way Cobra deejay. Buju a just mi deejay from long time as well as Bounty. Beenie is someone mi admire because of his entertainment skill. Are you happy with the way things are going for your musical career right now? Matterhorn: Yeah, can't complain, mi know dem a try fight me, but dem not gonna win. Do you have any advice for young artistes coming up? Matterhorn: Only - you boys weh inna it for quick money, it's betta yuh nuh bodda start. Nuh bodda come do your ting fi come rape di industry and reap a reward, cause often that reward never lasts.
