Alleged fake cop arrested

Yet another man has been arrested in the Half-Way Tree division for impersonating a police officer. This arrest is the third in recent times.

Charged with impersonating an officer and simple robbery is Ricardo Walker, otherwise called 'Ricky', a 27-year-old paralegal of a Kintyre Road, Kingston 6, address.

Reports are that on December 13, 2008, about 7:40 p.m., at Clocktower Plaza , Kingston 10, the accused man, posing as a policeman, approached the complainant and accused him of being involved in a bus robbery.

The accused reportedly held on to his waist as if he had a gun and dragged the complainant by the waist to Waterloo Road. It is alleged that he threatened to kill the complainant, before robbing him of $10,000 and a cellular phone valuing $3,500. He then told the complainant to run. A report was made to the police and the area was searched. The accused was pointed out by the complainant in the Half-Way Tree Square. He was held by the police, but none of the stolen items were recovered.

He is to appear in court soon.
