It was a double dose of joy for Devon Harriot and Natalee Lewin, with the birth of twins Danrick and Devrick, on April 7, 2006. And, since their birth, they have certainly brought happiness to their parents' lives.

The twins live in Kent Village and when THE STAR visited their home, they seemed shy. However, that changed when their friend Elishant Rhoden came, Devrick, the elder of the two, ran into his arms and started to smile mischievously.

Danrick, on the other hand, held on to his father Harriot who told the news team: "Is only because dem not used to you yet, not an easy set of boys to deal with man, but dem mek mi feel very special."

Not surprised

Their mother, Lewin, then added that she was not surprised when she found out she was about to have twins. "From I was four weeks (pregnant), the doctor told me it was twins, and I was aware that their grandmother from their father's side is also a twin and at eight months I knew it was two boys."

The boys were born at the University Hospital of the West Indies. Lewin gave birth to Devrick, who weighed 6.5 pounds. However, Danrick, who was born by Caesarean section, came some thirty-five minutes later, weighing 6.8 pounds and the double glory continue to grow, making the lives of many happy.

The boys soon became accustomed to the news team's presence, and Devrick started to smile and even walked over and shook the hand of photographer Ian Allen. By then, however, Danrick started to sleep.

The senior Harriot explained that the twins are very special to him. "When a come from work or anywhere on the street, they meet me at the gate and want to carry my bag, they pull off my shoes and just make me feel very meaningful."

Take charge

The boys' mother and sister, Danielle, said Danrick is the one who thinks he is the eldest child, because oftentimes he wants to take charge of his sister. "Sometime dem nice but Danrick feel that him a de bigger one and always want to be in charge," said the mother.
