Pedal cyclist killed by motor car

One man was killed and another injured after they were hit from the bicycle they were riding on the Linstead bypass, Rose Hall, St Catherine on Friday morning.

Dead is 58-year-old Wilbert Thompson, while injured is Calbert McFarlane, 49, both of Rose Hall, St Catherine.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network are that about 7:30 a.m., both men were riding along the Linstead bypass when they were hit by a Mitsubishi Gallant motor car which was travelling in the same direction. The driver did not stop. Both men sustained injuries and were taken to the Linstead Hospital where Thompson succumbed to his injuries and McFarlane was admitted.
