Three teenagers are now in police custody after reportedly engaging security guards in a shoot-out at a business place along Marcus Garvey Drive in St Andrew yesterday morning.
An unidentified man was also shot dead in the incident. He is believed to be in his early 20s and has plaited hair. He is of dark complexion, medium build, about 183 centimetres tall and was clad in blue jeans pants, blue and black striped underpants and multicoloured Adidas sneakers.
The three teenagers arrested who are 15, 17 and 19 years old and are all from Kingston 13 addresses are in police custody.
Police reports are that about 3 a.m., security guards went to a business place on Marcus Garvey Drive after the building's alarm system was activated. During a search of the premises, the guards were greeted with gunfire.
The fire was returned and the group seen running from the building. When the shooting subsided, a search was done of the premises, and the injured man and the teens were found. A quantity of looted goods were also recovered.
The police were called and the injured man taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The teens were taken into police custody, while further investigations continue into the matter.
