Police launch search for missing fisherman

The San San Police in Portland have launched a search for a fisherman who went missing when the boat he was travelling in capsized off the coast of Alligator Head, in the parish, on Thursday.

Missing is Delroy Smiley, 42, of Black Hill, Hope Bay in Portland.

Information received from the Constabulary Communication Network's liaison officer for Portland is that at 1:25 p.m., Smiley and another fisherman were in a boat off the shore of Alligator Head when the boat capsized. The other fisherman managed to swim ashore but Smiley was unable to and has not been seen since. The incident was reported to the San San Police and a search launched by the Marine Police and the JDF Coast Guard. However, Smiley was not found.
