Optimist club treats basic school

Students of Triumphant Basic School, located off the Braeton main road, in Old Braeton, were treated to goodies by members of the Optimist Club of Braeton recently.

About 20 students were given snacks and gift baskets by the service club members.

Marjorie Trottman, spokeswoman for the club, said that the treat is keeping with the club's motto: 'Let's do it for the children'.

According to Trottman, the treat is an annual event and is hosted at various schools in Portmore.

thankful

Principal Grace Walker of Triumphant Basic was thankful for the generosity bestowed upon them. "I thank these Optimists on behalf of the students and the executive board of Triumphant Basic. I thank the club for not only considering us, but have taken time out of their busy schedule to give the students such a wonderful treat, thank you all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year," she said.
