Another illegal gun unloaded


A 34-year-old man was arrested for breaches of the Firearms Act after a 9mm pistol was found in his possession by the Narcotics Police in Ewarton, St. Catherine on Saturday.

Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Gregory Phillips of Pembroke Road, Kingston 2.

Reports are that about 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Narcotics Police on operation in Ewarton, stopped a white Toyota Camry motor car driven by Phillips.

During a search of the vehicle, a Stallard 9mm pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition was found. Phillips was subsequently taken into custody. Following investigations he was arrested and charged and is scheduled to appear in the Linstead Resident Magistrate's Court today.

The Narcotics Police are investigating.
