Karma - the all inclusive Hawaiian luau held on the lawns of Devon House was the perfect ending to a weekend packed with high-profile
parties.
The party was food- and drinks- inclusive, and there was easy access to both all night as patrons came out in their numbers to support the event.
With a premium bar, a dessert table, a shot bar with tequila and a food table, it was an easy vibe at Karma.
Top selectors such as Kurt Riley, Renaissance and Coppershot kept the music going all night, with only a slight hiccup after 11 p.m when the police turned down the sound's volume.
Kotched on roadside
With the party starting in the day, when the STAR arrived at Devon House the venue was filled to capacity with cars, as persons who came late 'kotched' wherever they could find a space on the side of the road.
At the entrance, the Hawaiian theme was in force. Persons gave out Hawaiian leis which the women proudly sported throughout the night. Kurt Riley, alongside Coppershot's DJ Cutty on the microphone, created an early dancing vibe as persons got 'jiggy' and 'crazy hyped'.
On the larger dance floor, couples 'bubbled', while some single women 'wined' for the admiring males. Next to the selector, the Magnum girls in skimpy yellow and green outfits grabbed the attention of the crowd, as did members of the entertainment fraternity, including Bugle, Raine Seville, Leftside, Chino, Timberlee, DASECA and others.
Renaissance turned up the heat after 10 p.m. with a slew of hip hop and rock songs, before moving on to some current dancehall hits from Vybz Kartel, Bugle and others.
When Ramping Shop started, the vibe only increased and the song was 'pulled up' again and again.
Even when the music was turned down, the vibes kept building, as persons frequented the bar and got ready for the daggering segment presented by Coppershot.
Get wild
When Coppershot took over the controls it was a signal for the women to 'get wild' as they bent over for RDX and stood on their toes to Busy Signal.
In front of the sound a small crowd soon gathered as a male patron and a Magnum girl caused a stir when he hoisted her in the air and spun her around the dance floor. As the party came to its climax, the 'Day Rave' and 'Beast' rhythms stirred the crowd into a frenzy.
As persons left the party it was obvious that they had enjoyed their Sunday night, with a number of persons planning to move on to the next party, 'Tease', which was taking place farther down the road.
