The man accused of killing Dr Peter Vogel was remanded until January when the matter will again be mentioned.

Kevin Downer appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magis-trate's Court on Friday where he was again denied bail. He is to return to court on January 14.

Allegations in the matter are that on July 19, 2007, Dr Peter Vogel, University of the West Indies lecturer, was found dead at his home at Long Mountain, College Commons, Kingston 7.

Police investigations led them in search of the accused and his common-law wife. Downer was apprehended in November after a reward was offered for his arrest.

The Crown indicated that only three statements were outstanding for the file and all the other elements, including the post-mortem reports, were on file. As such, another mention date was set for the statements to be collected.
