10 days for stolen supermarket goods

A man who stole a pack of reusable wipes and four packs of powdered seasoning from a supermarket recently will have time to reflect on his actions, while he spends the next 10 days in jail.

Charged with simple larceny is Andre Powell. The court was told that Powell went into a branch of the Super Valu supermarket and removed the items without paying for them. He was accosted by the security guard and the matter reported to the police.

When he appeared in court, Powell told Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown that he was not working.

He was immediately sentenced to a 10-day term.
