Bail in the sum of $50,000 with one surety was offered to Jermaine Walcott, accused of carnal abuse, when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Allegations in the case are that Walcott, the boyfriend of the 14-year-old complainant's aunt, had sex with the minor on three occasions, prior to the matter being reported.
Denying the allegations
Walcott's attorney, however, said his client was denying the allegations brought against him. The lawyer told the court that he was advised that the minor had maliciously fabricated the allegations because his client reprimanded her once, threatening to send her back to live at her mother's house.
He continued that the teen was angry with his client for the utterance and made the report, accusing him of having sex with her.
The case is to be brought back before the court on January 29. A fingerprint order was also made in the matter.
