Cops in the Corporate Area removed yet another weapon from the streets when they seized a sub-machine gun and some rounds of ammunition on Sunday night.

According to police, an illegal firearm and four 9mm cartridges were seized in Mona Commons, Kingston 6. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

White Nissan

Police reports are that about 11 p.m., a white Nissan motor car with three men aboard was signalled to stop by the police. The driver complied and when the policemen approached the car, the men ran from the vehicle and escaped. The vehicle was searched and an Intra-Tec sub-machine gun, serial number 63273 and four 9mm rounds, found inside.

The Half-Way Tree police, who are investigating, say that one of the men is known and is being sought.
