Contracts, contacts and the 'bus'

Jackass seh de worl' no level. Jackass seh some business 'bus' whe day mek Jackass know seh a contac an' contac run dis ting, al dem a talk bout hard work.

The term 'bus' is most often associated with an entertainer, the 'bus' being the point where he or she gets recognition from the public and the money starts rolling in after that. But it seems that people who have not yet made it would appreciate a 'bus' of some sort, in that they want to make some decent money and change their life circumstances.

Ardently and assiduously

That 'bus' is very hard to get; sometimes it seems that working ardently and assiduously will never make it happen. Then there are some people for whom it just seems to happen somewhat miraculously.

But (and Jackass has to talk the code now) many times those who catch the 'bus' are those who have a free ticket, provided by the hand that runs the system to 'bus'. The world is not level at all, because those who control the bussing and those who get it often turn around and tell those who are working and working and not seeing much progress that hard work is the key to success.

Hmm. It might be the key to a little room, but contracts and contacts are the swipe card to the whole mansion.

Now, there is a hitch to this 'bus' by contracts and contacts. For one, chances are you have to deal with some very sleazy characters. Another thing is, chances are there will have to be some close contact between the 'busser' and the 'bussee' somewhere along the line. Very close. For those who can stomach it, fine. But Jackass gets the feeling that some of those 'bussers' are very, very hard to stomach (pun intended).

Contacts system?

Seriously, though, where does this leave people who decide to work hard and not go through the contracts and contacts system? Jackass (as one of those persons) believes that there is still room for them. It is a matter of being realistic and differentiating need from greed.

So we need a house. A house in a decent area, where gunshots are not part of the night sounds and people don't pull up before women waiting for a friend at their gates and ask 'business baby?'. But we really do not need a house that has eight bedrooms and nine and a half bathrooms, especially if it is a family of four - which is often the case (if that much).

Luxury four-wheel drive

So we need a car. One that is not a 'may reach', or the maintenance costs per year are more than the value of the automobile. We do not need a luxury fourwheel drive that will never go over anything rougher than a sleeping policeman. And it goes on.

The great thing is, too, that when you live like that you don't have to live in fear that someone will 'bus' on how you got your 'bus'.

Jackass seh de worl' no level. Jackass seh nuff a taxpayer money a go inna people whe inna contracts and contacts personal 'bus'.

'Many times those who catch the 'bus' are those who have a free ticket, provided by the hand that runs the system to 'bus' ...'
