Man faces dreaded court date

A January 28, 2009, preliminary trial date was set in the case of an accused rapist when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Allegations are that Paul Williams, the accused Rastafarian man, was involved in a relationship with the female complainant up until October of this year when it ended.

The court was told that following month (November), Williams allegedly went to the house of the complainant where he sexually assaulted her. The matter was reported and Williams was picked up.

The accused man was offered $50,000 bail with surety. A fingerprint order was also made.
