CENTERSTAGE with Mystic

Dancer Mystic - file

Stage Name: Mystic

Real name: Mystic Davis

Birth Month: October

How did you get started in the business?

"I used to admire the guys in my community who dance because my older brother, Dakai, used to dance with them and go all over. So, I practised in my backyard and, when I was good enough, I showed them and they accepted me and that was it.

I started modelling and I used that as a medium to get into the entertainment business."

What has been your greatest challenge in the business yet?

"Men, and I never had any money to go to and fro."

What have you been up

to lately?

"I've been working on my electronic press kit and practising. Also, I just completed a commercial for Red Label Wine, did a cameo in Onaje's new video and I have a Brick n Lace video at the end of the month. Outside of that, sexy photo shoots, couple shows and Summer Cookout party."

Do you look up to any specific artiste/dancers and why?

"I look up to artistes like Lady Saw and, where dancers are concerned, I look up to Tanisha Scott, she is like the ultimate female choreographer."

Are you happy with the way things are going for your musical career right now?

"I'm content so far, need more work."

Do you have any advice for young upcoming dancers?

"Stay true to your craft, a lot of practise and understand that in entertainment you have to deal with people, so it's all about humility and respect."

Where do you see your career in the next five years?

"I should be touring, fat bank account, my daddy should be able to stop working."
