A 39-year-old woman who hid about a kilogram of ganja (half pound) in her vagina and tried to export it to Trinidad was fined $24,000 and sentenced to 10 days in prison for the offence.

Allegations in the matter are that on November 18, the woman, Marion Brown, was at the Norman Manley International Airport checking in for a flight destined for Trinidad when it was discovered that she had ganja in her possession. She subsequently expelled the substance from her vagina.

The accused woman told the court that she was going to visit her uncle in Trinidad.
