Cops arrest suspected crook

A 56-year-old man who is suspected of being responsible for a number of robberies in East Kingston was arrested last Friday.

According to the Elletson Road police, the man was arrested after he allegedly robbed another man of his motor vehicle in Harbour View, Kingston 17.

Police reports are that the car owner was about to enter his vehicle when he was held up by an armed man who forced him into the vehicle and demanded the key.

Intercepted

During the ordeal, two other men entered the vehicle before the driver handed over the key and was then order to leave the vehicle.

The car owner then alerted the police and the car was subsequently intercepted along Windward Road in east Kingston.

A an illegal gun, a Taurus .38 revolver with six .38 cartridges was thrown out the window of the vehicle but was allegedly seized by the police.

The 56-year-old man was held by the police during the incident but his cronies escaped.

The identification of the man in custody is being withheld pending a series of identification parades as he is reportedly wanted in connection with a series of robberies committed in Harbour View.
