More murders numb MoBay

The police in St.James, were kept busy between Sunday evening and Monday morning with three murders in the parish.

Fidel Miller, 31, of Canterbury, St James was shot and killed by unknown assailants at King Street in that area on Sunday evening.

Reports are that about 8:30 p.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. On their arrival, Miller was found with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the roadway. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

About the same time, the Mount Salem Police were called to investigate the shooting of a 17-year-old youth at Piggot Street, Mount Salem, St. James.

Dead is Ojay Taylor of Piggot Street.

Explosions

Reports are that about 8:30 p.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. They arrived to find Taylor slumped in the front passenger seat of a motor car. Close inspection of the body revealed multiple gunshot wounds.

The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post mortem.

The lawlessness continued into yesterday morning when a 38-year-old security guard employed to Acid Security was shot dead during a robbery at Barnett Street, Montego Bay.

Dead is Karmi James of Spring Head, Oracabessa, St. Mary.

Reports are that about 9:45 a.m., James and a colleague were in the process of transporting money from a cambio at Barnett Street when they were attacked by two men armed with guns.

The gunmen robbed the security guards of cash exceeding $3million.

The armed men then opened fire hitting James before escaping. The other guard was unhurt. James was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
