Man in court for illegal gun

Michael McLean, Star Writer

A Westmoreland man who absconded bail last year and who is facing gun and ammunition-related charges, is booked to appear before the St Elizabeth Circuit Court, which opens in Black River on Monday, November 17.

On the run

Winston Warren, 35, o/c Rickie, of Little London, Westmoreland, was charged with illegal possession of firearm. He failed to attend the sitting of the St Elizabeth Circuit Court in July last year and has been on the run. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was last month picked by the St Elizabeth police and charged with the offence of abscounding bail.

He was taken before the Santa Cruz RM. Court, last week Thursday, where he pleaded guilty and was fined $250,000 or six months.
