Communication

Dear Pastor,

I have been living with my husband for the last eight years. We have two children together, but since the second child was born, I started to see some changes in him. He doesn't communicate with me. He prefers to sit and talk with his friends. We have been married for four years.

A.R.,

Dear A.R.,

I am just wondering whether you have become very heavy and you are not attractive anymore. Are you still putting yourself together or have you become careless with your weight? I am just wondering.

Have you spoken to your husband about your observation. Lack of communication can destroy a relationship. Whatever is bothering him or causing him not to speak much to you, now is the time to nip it in the bud, so to speak.

Sometimes men do not wish to cause arguments in the home, so they go silent. Sometimes a family counsellor can help a family resolve issues that bring stress and strain.
