Three men, including a teenager, were arrested following the seizure of an illegal firearm and ammunition during a spot check on Spur Tree main road, Manchester, yesterday.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition are Marlon Russell, 27, Jerome Edwards, 21, and Andre Davy, 18, all from Old Harbour Road, St Catherine.
Police say a brown Toyota Corolla motor car driven by Edwards with Davy and Russell aboard was stop along the roadway. The vehicle was searched and a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver with two .38 cartridges was found. The three were subsequently arrested and charged.
Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified man of Indian decent was found hanging from a tree at Parkington Plaza, Half Way Tree, St Andrew, Saturday. The body, believed to be in the late 20s, is of brown complexion and about 175 centimetres long. It was clad in a white shirt, red short pants, white socks and brown sneakers.
Police say about 6:30 a.m., passers-by saw the body hanging by a length of rope from a tree and alerted the police.
