Defending champions Caribbean Classic from Portmore Lane made a winning start in the 2008/2009 CTL Portmore/St Catherine domino league last Sunday when they crushed Seamaster 300-229 in an away match in Old Harbour.
Classic, who usually go on a winning streak for weeks in the early stages of the competition, should be a force to reckon with once again. However, they can expect stiff opposition from Fort International, Eradication, Hurricane and Eagle View.
Results of other matches played in last Sunday's opening round are as follows:

New Look whipped home team Garveymeade 300-204; ISCF stopped Old Harbour Bay 300-281 at Back Road; Right Stuff beat newcomers Colours International Sports Club 300-276 in an away match at Port Henderson Plaza; and Masterpiece clipped home team West-chester 300-295 in a countdown.
Fort International drubbed High Roller 300-237 in an away match. Eagle View beat Ken's Wildflower 300-286 in a home match; at Old Braeton; Ackee Pod stopped Marlie-mount 300-278 at Marlie-mount; Old Harbour United beat Correctional Services 300-260 in Old Harbour; Hurricane clipped Pros and Cons 300-294 in a home match at Dunbeholden; and Eradication got by Lime Tree 300-281 at Lime Tree Grove. There are 22 participating teams.
The competition continues tomorrow with 11 matches, starting at 11:30 a.m.
