By Orville Clarke, Portmore Star Writer

Defending champions Caribbean Classic from Portmore Lane made a winning start in the 2008/2009 CTL Portmore/St Catherine domino league last Sunday when they crushed Seamaster 300-229 in an away match in Old Harbour.

Classic, who usually go on a winning streak for weeks in the early stages of the competition, should be a force to reckon with once again. However, they can expect stiff opposition from Fort International, Eradication, Hurricane and Eagle View.

Fort International drubbed High Roller 300-237 in an away match. Eagle View beat Ken's Wildflower 300-286 in a home match; at Old Braeton; Ackee Pod stopped Marlie-mount 300-278 at Marlie-mount; Old Harbour United beat Correctional Services 300-260 in Old Harbour; Hurricane clipped Pros and Cons 300-294 in a home match at Dunbeholden; and Eradication got by Lime Tree 300-281 at Lime Tree Grove.
