❒ $83-million project to be completed by month end
Project manager of M&M Jamaica Limited, David Foster, has said his work is three weeks ahead of schedule on the state-of-the-art Portmore fishing village.
The fishing village is located on the Dyke Road, near Jamworld, which hosts stage shows like Sting and Champions in Action.
The complex is in close proximity to the Portsmouth community.

Foster, said that the complex will be completed on November 26 and handed over to the Portmore Municipal Council. The cost of the project is $83 million and, according to the contractors, it will be completed within budget.
The complex houses three wooden structures which consist of a caretaker lodge, a restaurant, shops and a vending area. It also includes 10 containers to be converted into 84 storage areas to house fishermen equipment such as boat engines.
The village is for the selling and distribution of fish and no boarding will be condoned.
Portmore Mayor Keith Hinds, in an interview with THE PORTMORE STAR recently, said his council will not allow boarding at the complex.
"We won't tolerate any living at the facility, only the caretaker of the complex will live there," Mayor Hinds pointed out.
He said that upon completion, he and his council will sit with the fisheries division to work out the fee structure for the fishermen and
vendors.
