Paper-thin love - Does he want me or his citizenship?

Dear Pastor,

I am a single mother living in Canada. For the past three months, I have been talking to a guy who lives in Jamaica. He used to live in Canada but got deported.

He wants me to go to Jamaica and marry him. He said he wants to marry me for love and not because he is interested in getting his papers, but I am a little scared.

Pastor, I need your advice.

S.B., Canada

Dear S.B.,

Go with your feelings, they will never lead you astray. I cannot, with good conscience, encourage you to continue this relationship or come to Jamaica and marry this man whom you are not sure about. Don't believe a word he says.

Pastor
