A man accused of stabbing a workman contracted to install a partition in his sister's room was brought before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court Monday to answer for the offence.
Allegations in the case are that the accused man, Carlton Campbell, stabbed Peter Smith in his side while he was on the job, assigned to him by Campbell's sister.
Smith, in his explanation, told the court that Campbell's sister gave him the task of installing a partition between her rooms and those of her brother's. He continued that he was on site, doing just that, when the accused man got boisterous, arguing that he did not want a partition between the rooms. Smith said that Campbell then stabbed him in his side.
Campbell's mother, who was in court, told Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown that her son has not been in the best mental health since he started smoking.
RM Brown arranged for Campbell to be psychologically assessed before returning to court on December 2. A fingerprint order was also made in the matter.
