Woman pleads guilty to conspiracy in Kameka's case

Tina Gaye McGowan, the woman charged in the murder of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gilbert Kameka, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to murder in the Home Circuit Court yesterday.

McGowan, 18, of Mount Industry, St Andrew, will be sentenced next Tuesday. The murder charge against her was withdrawn.

The three men who are charged with the murder of ACP Kameka are to appear in the Home Circuit Court today.

They are Massimassa Adams, 26, of Industry Village, 18-year-old Kemar Dawson of Standpipe, and 21-year-old Rohan Townsend, of Irish Town, all in St Andrew.

ACP Kameka, 48, was shot dead in Irish Town on November 29 last year in an alleged robbery at a house.

ACP Kameka headed the Area Four police and is the highest-ranking police officer to be killed in recent history.
