Three killed in alleged shoot-out identified

Three of the four men fatally shot during an alleged shoot-out with the police in Wilton Gardens, popularly known as 'Rema', have been identified.

The incident occurred last Thursday.

They are Rohan 'Baba G' Palmer, 33, of Tivoli Gardens, west Kingston; Alphansus 'Jim' Green, 37, and Theophilus 'Tamarlin' Samuels, both of East Road in Kingston.

Reports are that a police/military operation, which began shortly after 2 p.m, was being carried out in the community, during which security forces came under heavy gunfire. A shoot-out then ensued in which the four and a Jamaica Defence Force soldier were shot.

Three firearms, a 7.62 rifle, a shotgun and a 9mm pistol, along with several rounds of ammunition, were also reportedly seized.

Head of Kingston Western division, Superintendent Delroy Hewitt, told THE STAR that the incident resulted from a current war in the community between members of the Entourage and Action Pack gangs.
