Champion jockey Brian Harding scored an easy win in the Stud Farm Association Breeders Stakes on Saturday but his Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) jockeys' title bid remains tenuous as he failed to gain on leading rider Ricky Jadoo.

Harding steered the 9-2 bet Mister Kingston to a smashing win by 10-3/4 lengths in the TT$100,000 (US$16,666) Breeders Stakes for his only win on the card.

His tally now stands at 41 wins, 13 behind Jadoo, who also posted a victory to climb to 54 wins with less than two months remaining in the season. Six racedays remain in the T&T racing year.

Chasing his 11th jockeys' championship title in the Caribbean, Harding won the 1200-metre fourth race, the Stud Farm Association Breeders Stakes for two-year-olds, with Mister Kingston by 10-3/4 lengths in the TT$100,000 (US$16,666).

The 8-5 favourite Savvy, with Venezuelan jockey Heribert Martinez aboard, finished second, and Jadoo's mount Regal Honour was third.

Harding, who won back-to-back Jamaica jockeys' titles at Caymanas Park in 2005 and 2006, has been T&T champion eight times - 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2003, 2004 and 2007.

Jadoo got his win on the card with the Jamaica-bred two-year-old filly Enchanted Alex in the 1300-metre first race.

Enchanted Alex, bred Law of the Sea out of Doctor Bird, by HAM Stables Ltd, won by a head.
