Two charged for couple's death

Police yesterday charged two men in connection with the killing of a Clarendon couple at their home in Clarendon Park last month.

Charged with the murders are Keith 'Shortman' Merchant, 23, of Toolis, Manchester, and Marcus Morgan, 32, from Clarendon Park.

Police reported that about 11 p.m. on September 27, residents saw fire coming from Lewis and Carmen Bryan's residence and alerted the police and the fire brigade. One unit from the May Pen Fire Department carried out cooling-down operations. After the exercise, the couple's charred remains were found among the rubble.

The two accused were subsequently arrested during a police operation. They are to appear in the May Pen Resident Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
