The preliminary enquiry into the murder case involving mechanic Robert Newman, 44, accused of stabbing his 69-year-old aunt to death earlier this year, again failed to get under way in the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday as the prosecution is still awaiting the forensic certificate.
The court was again informed by the Santa Cruz police that the report was not received from the Forensic department in Kingston. Resident Magistrate Stanley Clarke remanded the accused who returns to court on November 24.
Newman of Content, Goshen, in the parish, is charged with the murder of Ethlyn Hyman-Dixon a returning resident of the same district.
Allegations are that about 9:30 a.m, on July 9 this year, Hyman-Dixon spoke to her nephew about the loud playing of music and sleeping with his lover inside her house. The court heard that the accused got upset and a knife was used to stab the deceased all over her body. She died on the spot.
