'Diss and dat

Dear Pastor,

I am a 19-year-old female who is currently working within the government sector. Some time ago I met a handsome young man who knows how to treat a woman. I spent a weekend at his house and one morning, at about 5:57 a.m, I heard knocking at the door.

It was a female. He ignored the knocking and so did I. The female was standing outside knocking for about half an hour. I went to her, but she didn't say a thing, nor did I. Then, about half hour later, she began to knock again, so he went to talk to her through the window and I went along with him.

Who are you?

She asked him who I was so I said "Why don't you ask me instead of him?" And she did. So I replied "his girlfriend". I returned the question to her and she said she was his babymother. I believed her because he told me he had one.

She told him she thought it was another girl. She told him to give her her belongings that she had left there and he did. When he brought them to her, she said she didn't want them through the window. She wanted him to unlock the grille, which he didn't do. She left, reminding him that he has a daughter to take care of. Both of us replied, "Yes, she will be taken care of." He 'dissed' her in the wickedest way.

Phone search

After all of this argument, I decided to search his phone to see what was going on. I saw a message from the same girl whom the child's mother was talking about. The message asked him why he didn't visit her anymore. It also reminded him that he had a daughter living for and that she is pregnant and can hardly manage because her salary can't last for the week.

I asked him if she is pregnant for him and he said that's what she said but he is not sure. Then I asked him if she is the first child's mother and he said no. So how would she be saying that he should remember that he has a daughter living for?

Pastor, I really do love this guy, but I am afraid to get hurt and I am willing to do anything for him and he is willing to do the same for me.

S.D., St Catherine, Jamaica

Dear S.D.,

You are along with a playboy and, to be frank with you, you are too bright. It is only a matter of time before you are pregnant too.

You had no business trying to defend a man whose babymother came to see him. It was clear that they were still having an intimate relationship and she was still sleeping with him.

You had no right to insult her and you are quite fortunate that she was not able to give you a fine beating.

Pastor
