Three suspected of rape and murder in custody

The St Elizabeth police have taken three men into custody who are suspected to be involved in the murder of a woman who was found dead recently.

Police sources theorise that the woman, 30-year-old Yulanda Samuels, also known as 'Tanya', was sexually assaulted before she was murdered.

Sources also say she was a well-known drug addict.

The names of the men are being withheld, however, as they are to be questioned and have their DNA tested. They were picked up some time last week.

Police reports say Samuels' body was found with multiple stab wounds last Saturday in an unfinished house at Peacock Heights in the parish.

The police were alerted after children who were playing in the area discovered the body.
