Tony Matterhorn. - Nathaniel Stewart
Stage name: Matterhorn
Real name: Duffton Taylor
Birth month: March
How did you get started in the business?
"Started from Inner City disco, which was one of the big sound systems back in the days... the sound was from my area so me use to hang out with them."
What has been your greatest challenge in the business yet?
"The greatest challenge is the thing itself, to go the final distance... getting recognition from the public, a lot of people are in it and are not recognised... so it is the whole thing and also to maintain the fame."
What have you been up to lately?
"Well... just voicing and a set up the thing for Christmas. Right now, I'm all over the place voicing for like Stephen, Coppershot... just a promo the thing,."
Do you look up to any specific artiste?
"Me look up to the one them who set it... Bounty, Buju, Beenie Man, Shabba there is so much of them, who is there from birth."
Are you happy with the way things are going for your musical career right now?
"Yeah... I mean the booking out there you know, the appreciation from the fans... songs playing over the radio... and plus dancehall music step up back, cause sometimes it get it knock now and then."
Anything you'd like to change about it?
"Well the bad mind thing I would love to change... but I guess that is not our job, the business people them should also stop fight the dancehall... cause it's not them alone a bring money in the country. So I would appreciate it they could appreciate the music more. Them always say Bob Marley, reggae and dancehall is almost the same thing ... look on Reggae Sumfest, the Dancehall night is the biggest Night, and that show bring the hottest international stars."
Do you have any advice for young artistes coming up?
"If them in it for a quick money, just stop... because it is bigger than that, it is to be cared for and at the same time make a thing out of it... it is like a child, who needs guidance."
Where do you see your career in ten years?
"I see myself doing the same thing... and protecting dancehall music, so people like me and the other artistes will be there to protect the thing, cause some people act as if they don't need us."
