Merciless - file

"Mi throw mi corn and Bounty (Killer) and Cobra tek di bait," said Merciless in response to an article published in 'THE STAR' on Tuesday.

Merciless yesterday responded to comments made by fellow deejay, Cobra, who said that he was not worthy enough of a clash and that he should enter next year's Rising Stars competition.

In Tuesday's article, 'Cobra Gives Merciless Rising Stars Advice', Cobra said that Merciless, who has been absent from the dancehall scene, should try entering and winning Rising Stars before he could even attempt to clash him. Cobra even went as far as saying, Merciless should start from lifting sound boxes and then distribute promotional CDs.

When THE STAR called Merciless, he had little to say then, as he asked THE STAR to call him later for a comment. However, when the calls were returned, his phone rang without answer.

Cobra takes the bait

While Cobra said he would not encourage anyone to respond to Merciless, Merciless said Cobra took the bait.

Merciless, who is known for songs such as Ol Gallis and Mavis, said he was not seeking a clash with Cobra but was simply wondering if he retired from the business.

"Mi come back from foreign and a seh a Mavado alone a run di place and a seh wah happen to all a di artistes dem. Mi a wonda if Cobra retire and the rest a big bad artistes dem retire. But him (Cobra) tek it to heart and a get bright," he told THE STAR.

Adding, "tell him (Cobra) seh I will forever be a rising star and he is always a falling star."

In the meantime, Merciless says he will be releasing the video for his latest single, Revolution, next week.

He is also putting the finishing touches on a song, which he says targets men that rape children.
