Busy, son, brother and father

Busy Signal - Winston Sill

While fans may have access to STAR of the Month Busy Signal onstage, off stage the artiste is quite the family man. A son, brother and father, Busy tries to make as much time as possible for his family.

Coming from a large family, Busy is the eldest of three boys with an older sister, none of whom are in music and only some of whom are still living in Jamaica.

"My family is very proud of me, dem highlight me a lot. Mi haffi big up my parents, especially my mommy who's a single parent," Busy said.

While Busy is now an established artiste, when he was just getting started, his mother was hesitant about him doing dancehall music. According to Busy, his mother would have preferred him singing reggae music or gospel. Currently however his mom listens to the censored tracks on his albums.

As well as being close to his siblings and mother, Busy also tries to be around for his two daughters, one of whom is four and the other is younger.

While it isn't easy to find the quality time to spend with his daughters, Busy makes as much time as he can. In the future, the artiste hopes to have a "whole heap of children", including some sons, as long as he can take care of them.

As for rumours that Busy may be expecting another child on the way the artiste was hesitant to answer saying, "well......"
