Five persons shot dead in separate incidents

At least five persons were shot dead in separate incidents across the country on Tuesday night.

They have been identified as Fredico Campbell, Icilda Swack, Melvin Lawrence, Henry Jarrett and Adjani Dockery.

Heard explosions

In the case of Campbell, 21, otherwise called 'Papine' of Joan Avenue, Glendevon, St James, reports are that ta 7:45 p.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. They arrived to find Campbell's body on the main road with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The Montego Bay CIB is investigating.

Chased by the gunman

In Clarendon, a 48-year-old businesswoman was shot and killed. The incident occurred in Mitchell Town, Clarendon.

Reports are that at 9:15 p.m., Swack was standing in front of her shop when she was approached by a man armed with a handgun. She ran and was chased by the gunman who opened fire, hitting her. The police were called and she was taken to the Lionel Town Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

In the third incident, a man was shot and killed by gunmen along Molynes Road, Kingston 10. He has been identified as Melvin Lawrence, 19, of an Eleven Miles, Bull Bay, address.

Demanded his car

Reports are that about 10:35 p.m., Lawrence was sitting in his beige Toyota Corolla motor car on Molynes Road, when he was approached by two men on foot, one armed with a gun. The men demanded his car and a struggle developed, during which Law-rence was shot and thrown from the vehicle. The police were summoned and the injured man was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pro-nounced dead. The Half-Way Tree CIB is investigating.

The bodies of two Trelawny residents were found with gunshot wounds in a car in Montego Heights in the Second City on Wednesday morning.

They have been identified as Henry Jarrett, 35, taxi operator of Spicy Hill, and Adjani Dockery, 22, of Pit Street, Falmouth.

Reports are that about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, explosions were heard in Montego Heights. At 6:30 a.m. the following day, residents found the bodies in the car and called the police.

Detectives from the Montego Bay CIB are investigating.
